BSP, warns the public about the coin being sold at a higher price

The Central Bank of the Philippines has warned the public that 20 Piso New Generation Currency coins and enhanced 5-Piso coins should not be purchased at prices higher than their respective values from online sellers.

According to the BSP, by the end of February 2022, there are 290.09 million pieces of P20 NGC coins and 1.90 billion pieces of enhanced P5 coins still in circulation.

In this regard, the BSP calls for the cooperation of the public in maintaining the integrity of such Philippine coins and banknotes as they are legal fees and can be used as payments for goods and services in the same amount of money itself.
